ROLE
Moonrakers Luminor
Luminor is a fully-cooperative mode of the board game Moonrakers.
In this digital expansion, players adventure across a procedurally generated map, attempt multi-tiered narrative-driven contracts, build a ship, and face off against a Utopian Alliance General. While in development, IV Studio engaged Sanctus to create sound and music in order to make Luminor the richest experience possible.

Music Composition
Play being split between a video game and board game proved to be a unique compositional challenge. We created adaptive music that responds to each aspect of the play experience to ensure the music would compliment the social aspects while reinforcing the narrative drama.

Sound Design
We were inspired by the visual design to create sounds that felt at home in the cockpit of a Moonraker spaceship. The sounds are iconic to provide feedback to players and imbue each button with a sense of narrative.

The Marketing Campaign
Sanctus supported IV to generate buzz leading up to the game’s announcement.
Puzzles and Audio Drama
Before announcing Luminor, IV Games teased their fanbase with a series of puzzles. Solving each puzzle allowed the player to access a piece of a serialized audio drama featuring the voice of Becca Scott that allows fans to listen in on a bugged feed of the game's antagonist. We carried over the Moonrakers audio aesthetic created for the game and collaborated with IV to balance the difficulty through sound design.
